Hostway offers CardinalCommerce’s Verified by Visa and MasterCard
SecureCode online fraud protection programs with their ecommerce tool,
Merchant Manager.
Chicago, IL—Monday, October 17, 2005—Hostway

excited to offer its customers a new tool that will provide their
online shoppers with a great sense of confidence and security while
shopping on their online store. Hostway has partnered with CardinalCommerce,
a provider of services for securing electronic and wireless commerce,
to offer Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode to ecommerce hosting
customers who use Hostway’s Merchant Manager shopping cart.
Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode are rapidly growing programs
that offer an extra level of protection to enrolled Visa and MasterCard
cardholders. This is achieved by requiring them to enter a password
or PIN when making online purchases with participating merchants.

to participate will benefit from a nearly 70% reduction in chargebacks
that stem from disputed (often fraudulent) charges. This benefit of
‘chargeback blocking’ is automatic, and protection applies
to both US and international transactions.
